Author John Anthony Adams has a Ph.D. in soil science from the University of California at Riverside, worked for years as a soil scientist with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, owns the last orange grove in Rialto California, and was a lifelong atheist. He became the historian of Rialto, California, spent years in the old church building that houses the Rialto Historical Society, and was dumbfounded to discover that it was haunted. His skepticism was so ingrained that it took him years to fully accept that ghosts are real.
